Honoring Motherwell Distilling Co.’s industrial heritage, Watermark helped evolve the brand while deepening its connection to community.

Through a forged monogram, bolt-inspired hex pattern, and badge system that nods to steelwork and craftsmanship, the original identity born in OH was refreshed for VA into a modern, minimal system yet grounded in Alexandria’s rich history through vintage bridge imagery and textured applications.

The Package design followed this groundwork of evoking a sense of place.

Brickwater Bourbon, the first release, draws inspiration from Alexandria, Virginia's rich history of craftsmanship, industry, and community. At its center, a custom copper-foiled badge features the iconic Hooff's Run Bridge—a nod to the city's roots and the enduring connections that helped shape the neighborhood around it. Paired with bold typography and architectural forms, the label celebrates the character, pride, and local heritage that define both the brand and the spirit inside the bottle.
