New Canned Wine Hatching from Hamlet
As the popularity of canned wine explodes, Hamlet Vineyards is hatching their own can just in time for their famous river trips. Their pinot gris is the perfect chilled canned wine, crisp and cool on a summer day in the kayak, by the pool or on the beach.
One of the first canned wines launching in Virginia this year, Hamlet is riding the trend celebrated in the recent NY Times article here. While everyone debates the quality of canned wines, no one can argue with their ability to go where bottles can not, especially in the summer where glass can be forbidden or hard to travel with on foot. Watermark has been a proponent of canned beverages for years, having designed Tarongino, a Spanish wine from oranges that is imported from Valencia to Candid Cocktails (formerly Wheelhouse), one of the first canned cocktails on the market several years ago. We are excited to have been on the front end of canned cocktails and canned wine label design and can not wait to bring more well-designed canned beverages to market.
